Daisy Nail Art

It's no secret to anybody who comes into contact with me that I have the world's biggest soft spot for nail art. So when I decided to create my blog, it was a no brainer to include my own designs and post them onto my own pretty little corner of the internet.

So for me, when creating my own designs, it all starts off here, the planning.
I have my own little white notepad jotter where I gather inspiration and play around with colours.
Here's how my design was born :)

Nail Polish's used:

Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy Original Nail Strengthener
Base Colours: Bourjois So Laque Glossy-Adora Bleu
                      Maybelline Color Show- Electric Yellow
Detail Colours: Maybelline Color Show- Winter Baby
                        White Striper-from eBay
Accent Glitter: Polka Dot Cosmetics (from poundland!)
Tools: All I needed for this design was a white striper,
          and a dotting tool.

I hope you like my design, if you do please follow so I know that I should do more for you lovely people.
Thanks for reading.

Tartan Catwalk Trend

Browsing my way around the internet, I've noticed a certain trend hitting the A/W14 catwalks which has quickly made it's way onto the red carpet, and in the high street shops; Tartan.
On the catwalk, there is much of layering and doubling up, which I like. A lot. You can never go wrong with layering in the crisp harsh weather of the Autumn and Winter, especially in that inbetweeny' stage where it's not quite either. That is of course if you live in the UK.

Left-Right: Emma Watson, Kylie Jenner, Cara Delevigne, Rita Ora.

Here is how a handful of celebrity style icons have incorporated this cozy craze into, either the red carpet, or the city streets. My favorite look is Emma Watson's classy Alexander Mcqueen dress, paired effortlessly with a pair of black studded Christian Louboutin's and a leather jacket to add a grungy-feel. Yet another trend spotted this year.

Here is a collage of a few tartan high-street items. I tried to vary the items which I selected; a midi skirt, a skort, a staple scarf, a scrunchie (again, a nice accessory for someone in school/college), and finally another huge A/W14 Catwalk appearance-a blanket wrap/kimono.

That's all for this post, thankyou for reading and please do follow me if you enjoyed it.

First Blog | Kate Moss by Rimmel Matte Lipsticks

This blog has been long awaited and I have finally made it, my first ever blog post. Clearly I am all new to this so please do excuse me of any errors I may make through-out this post. But nevertheless I welcome you to my blog and do enjoy reading.

I pondered about what I'd write about for my first post and, me being one of those girls who will walk into Superdrug and run straight for the glowing stand with the many lipsticks on, and forty minutes later doing the walk of shame out of the shop rubbing an arm full of swatches with Superdrug's own brand of hand sanitizer which I had to purchase on the way out, it was almost a natural instinct to choose lipsticks as my first blog post. And what better but to choose one of my top choices; Kate Moss' matte lipstick collection.

I own three of the five shades in the collection:
107- a deep berry red shade, perfect for winter and a great MAC Rebel dupe.
101- a soft, muted baby pink.
113- a pale, natural nude with slight peach undertones.

    Left to right: 107, 101, 113

My favorite? 101, or 107.
If I had to pick one? 101.
It has to be said that these lipsticks smell, and taste, just divine, like berry's, yum. Another likable quality about these is how moisturizing these are for matte lipsticks. Also Rimmel have selected a wide variation of colours in this collection, however they have focused particularly on the brighter shades.
Unfortunately shade 113 is way to light for my skin tone, when swatched it looks far more peachy-toned and darker than it does when its on the lips.
I would say that their staying power is quite high, it would be a good 2-3 hours until I needed to top up. One thing I found odd with the shade 107 is that because the consistency is so thick, if you top up before you should, the lipstick builds up and thickens on your lips.

Pros: Moisturizing and matte combo!
         Highly-pigmented,
         A shade for everyone,
         Nice packaging.
Cons: Odd consistency when over-applied.
Would like to see more darker nude shades.

I hope you enjoyed reading my first post and that this was helpful.
